Skill Trainings:
Due to adverse climatic conditions, consecutively for the last few years, farming activities, agriculture labour and employment in allied fields depreciated to an alarming extent. Being a very backward district, Mahabub Nagar do not have any other alternate employment and income fields. Mostly the women have displaced from their income source of labour for a longer period. In order to find some solace, RDS planned to conduct skill training for women for alternate skilled and employment opportunities
In this regard we conducted the following skill Trainings:
1) Value addition to food materials
a) Preparation of Jam
b) Squash making
c) Baby foods
d) Mango jelly
e) Vegetable, Fish & Mutton pickles
f) Mushroom soup powder
g) Masala powder making
2) Tailoring & Embroidery
a) Various types of embroidery works
b) Tie & dye
c) Jerry works
d) Saree printing &designing
3) Handicrafts
a) Doll making
b) Painting on Mud pots, Glass, Coconut shells etc,
c) Flower vases
d) Flower making
e) Bouquet making etc.,
4) Detergent and phenol making
5) Mushroom cultivation & processing
6) Vermicomposting
7) Botanical pesticides etc.,
Majority of those trained have converted their newly acquired skill for self employment, income generation and are their present livelihood
AGRICULTURE TRAINING:
Under RSVY Programme training for RMGs and farmers were conducted in 12 mandals of Mahabubnagar Dist. This training was helped the RMG members to understand better about the functioning of RMGs and Book keeping etc. farmers also got a chance to understand the negative impact of using chemicals in agriculture and got a chance to understand the natural fertilizers and remedies for pest problems.
